The Rice Raiser is growing
The Rice Raiser is entering its second year and schools are responding. Schools that participated last year are signing up and schools just hearing about the campaign in other cities are also planning to join. Let us know if your school would like to take part so we can provide you with the information tools and support to help you run a successful campaign.
More businesses and community groups are coming on board and showing their support. Lists will soon be available. If you have a business or belong to a community group or club and would like to participate please call us. We’ll gladly show your support to the world through our website.

The Rice Raiser 2006 has been a great campaign! This first year, the focus was primarily in Abbotsford, where nine schools participated. In addition to that, three schools from the Vancouver area and a school from Langley contributed!

January 2005
International Christian Response and MEI Secondary and Middle Schools teamed up to raise rice. The results of the food drive/fund raiser are as follows:
Rice raised throughout the campaign: 840.26 kilograms (to be distributed through the local Food Bank)
Cash raised to purchase rice for the poor in Cambodia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka: $1,550.00. This money will purchase enough rice to feed 3,000 people for one week! (Rice is the primary staple in all their meals.)
