The Purposes of Hunger Response International Society
- To operate as a charitable organization built on Christian principals which seeks to address hunger locally in communities within Canada and in developing countries. It provides creative, tangible means for people to learn about and contribute towards feeding the hungry.
- To educate and mobilize youth, to raise public awareness about global hunger while initiating action to combat hunger
- To collect food for distribution to people in need of assistance in Canadian communities
- To collect funds for the purchase of emergency food aid and the development of food resources in developing countries.
- To develop partners internationally and to work in collaboration with other organizations on projects to feed hungry people or people at risk of hunger. Hunger Response International places a priority on working at the village level and will only undertake projects where there is proven expertise or a track record of accountability.
- To develop long term partners locally and to work in collaboration with the educational system, community service organizations and the Canadian Food Banks Association in our efforts to raise awareness about hunger both locally and globally and to provide tangible, measurable projects to feed hungry people or people at risk of hunger.
