Hunger Response International

Rita Bot has lived in Abbotsford for 15 years and teaches grade 6 at Abbotsford Christian Middle School. She and her husband, Rudy, are ‘empty nesters’, afer raising a daughter and three sons. At ACMS she is the teacher sponsor for the Student Outreach Team, which plans events for middle schoolers to learn about and respond to local and global needs. The Rice Raiser was one of these.

Rita and her husband attend New Life Christian Reformed Church where Rita is part of the Mission’s Team, working as the liaison between church members who are in missions and the rest of the congregation.

Rita is excited to participate on the Board of Directors of Hunger Response International because she has always had an interest in learning about and responding to the needs of people in developing countries. As a teacher, she has a strong desire to develop an awareness of global needs in her classroom. She sees Hunger Response International and the Rice Raiser Campaign as excellent opportunities for students to become informed and mobilized to serve those in need.

Rita serves on the Board of Directors for Hunger Response International as our Education Advisor.
